GCIAToronto, ON, July 25, 2017 – The Directors of the Global Commercial Insurers Association (GCIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Murphy as Chair. Mr. Murphy, who is President of Lloyd’s Canada, was elected as Chair, succeeding Mr. Patrick Lundy.
Formed in 2016, the association provides a platform through which foreign-owned commercial insurance carriers can become informed of current regulatory developments and advocate on issues relevant to the commercial insurance.
The Association, whose members represent a significant ratio of commercial insurance premiums in Canada, is positioned to become the voice of global commercial insurance companies operating in Canada. The members are AIG, Allianz Global Risks Insurance Company, Liberty International Underwriters, Lloyds Underwriters and Zurich Insurance Company Ltd.
The association’s work complements the efforts of other industry associations for the betterment of our members, benefitting the property/casualty insurance industry and our clients.
